Marshawn Lynch sat during the playing on the ‘National Anthem’ Saturday night at the Oakland Raiders preseason game with the Arizona Cardinals.
Let’s hope Lynch’s decision to sit will inspire other athletes to express themselves in support of Colin Kaepernick, who is clearly being ‘whiteballed’ by NFL ownership for kneeling during the ‘Anthem’ last year. It is especially important to see Lynch do this following the tragedy in Charlottesville, Va., earlier Saturday, when ‘White Nationalist’ acts of domestic terrorism led to death and mayhem.
Clearly, Lynch isn’t afraid to express himself. He already has 10-years under his belt in the NFL, and made millions. What are the Raiders going to do, cut him?
If they do Lynch can go back into retirement, and count his money.
There are other players _ black and white _ of Lynch’s stature in the NFL, and other sports. Let’s hope they will show similar courage.
