Today (May 19th) would have been Malcolm X’s 93rd birthday. Minister Malcolm, the one-time thief who spent time in prison, went on to become an iconic force for civil rights, justice, and freedom.
His words brought power and hope to black people around the world. He challenged America to live up to its promises and challenged black people to love themselves. Malcolm X was husband, father, leader, and humanitarian.
If he were to magically come back to our world today, it wouldn’t take him long to see that in essence, ‘ain’t a damn’ thing changed. Linked is a clip of Minister Malcolm addressing police brutality from more than 50-years ago.
