One of the subjects of the segment focuses on former University of Illinois lineman Simon Cvijanovic, who accused then Illini coach Tim Beckman of manipulating the school’s team doctors to withhold medical information, forcing injured players to play hurt, and deal with physically attacks, and verbal threats to take scholarships.
Simon Cvijanovic speaks out here.
After initially dismissing Cvijanovic’s accusations as coming from a disgruntled player the Fighting Illini eventually fired Beckman just weeks before the start of the 2015 season. Beckman has vehemently refuted all the allegations.
There was also another interesting segment that looked at the NFL’s ban on players using marijuana for pain relief. Despite marijuana being legal in some parts of the country, it is still prohibited by members of the National Football League. But some former players are speaking out against the ban, and they believe using medical marijuana to help relieve pain, is much better than using the prescribed pain pills that several players have become addicted to.
