However, thanks to our friends at Youtube, and other media sharing outlets, there is a way to get an idea of a great halftime show. In looking at video, and checking out some HBCU band performances live, I had a chance to watch some outstanding performances. Tennessee State, Jackson State, FAMU, Tuskegee, Texas Southern, Bethune-Cookman and Grambling are just a few who delivered some sensational performances during the season.
However, my favorite performance came from Southern University’s Human Jukebox in front of 92,000 at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium on Sept. 26.
The Jukebox ‘showed up, and showed out’. They brought their A-game to Athens, Ga., and gave the Bulldogs fans a scintillating performance that featured superb execution, showmanship and musicianship. And, for their grand finale, the Jukebox did a second-line off the field.
Georgia fans responded with a standing ovation at the end of the performance.
Now, that just happens to be my favorite performance. Let me know what your favorite performance of 2015 was, and The African-American Athlete will find a video of it, and link it to the page. Also linked below is a poll where you can vote on who had the best HBCU band in 2015.
