Yesterday, former Detroit Lions V-P and NFL veteran Larry Lee stopped by TheAfricanAmericanAthlete.com radio show to pay tribute to his friend, Aretha Franklin.
Lee, who played nine years in the National Football League, met Franklin during his playing days in Detroit.
Franklin was not only a giant in the world of music but a stalwart in the civil rights movement. She used her platform and her music to move, and fund, issues of social justice forward.
Lee, whose Larry Lee and The Back In The Day Band, performs all over the country, talked about Franklin’s wit, kindness, and concern for others.
