Former Georgetown University basketball star Craig Shelton was the featured guest on ‘In And Out Of Sports’ hosted by D.C. talk show legend Butch McAdams.
The 6-foot-7 Shelton played his high school ball at Washington, D.C. Dunbar, and he is considered one of the finest players to come out of the District.
Shelton was one of the country’s most highly recruited players and settled on Georgetown University coached by John Thompson. Shelton thrived at Georgetown (1976-1980) and finished his career with the 15.2 points and seven rebounds.
Shelton was taken by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the 1980 draft. Shelton played parts of two seasons in Atlanta. He also played in the CBA and overseas. ‘In And Out Of Sports’ is brought to you by Hortons Funeral Service. Click to hear the interview.
