Jason Maravich, the son of basketball legend Pistol Pete Maravich, stopped by to visit on ‘In And Out Of Sports’, hosted by D.C. talk show legend Butch McAdams.
Jason and Butch took a deep dive into the career of Maravich, one of the most talented and creative players ever to play the game.
Maravich averaged 44 points per game at LSU (1967-70) playing for his father, Press. Researchers have estimated that with the 3-pointer Maravich would’ve averaged 57-points a game in college.
Maravich was the No. 1 pick of the Atlanta Hawks in the 1970 NBA draft. He would go on to have an outstanding career, earning five All-Star selections during his career that lasted from 1970 to 1980.
His No. 44 jersey was retired by the Atlanta Hawks and his No. 7 jersey was retired by the Utah Jazz. He is also a member of the NBA’s 50th-anniversary team. ‘In And Out Of Sports’ is sponsored by Horton Funeral Service and Takoma Station. Click to hear the interview.
