Just the other day I noted that no one was cooler than the great Reggie Jackson admiring his work in big moments. Reggie’s three, home-run game, for the New York Yankees against the L.A. Dodgers in 1977 is classic, Reggie Jax. He enjoyed each one of his bombs to the fullest. Of course, no one enjoyed watching Reggie Jackson hit home runs more than Reggie Jackson. His home run poses, and bat flips are the best.
But Reggie just got topped.
In Wednesday night’s Game 5 of the ALDS, Toronto’s Jose Bautista got Jackson, the man they called Mr. October. Bautista’s dramatic, 3-run-homer, not only broke a 3-3 tie in the deciding game, it capped off one of the wildest innings in the history of Major League Baseball.
Bautista’s reaction to his mammoth homer, that sealed the win and the series for the Blue Jays, is arguably the best bat flip ever.
