White, 74, was the leader and the mastermind of EWF, as they inspired us spiritually, stirred our passions, and soothed our souls. There are so many classics ‘Love’s Holiday,’ ‘Imagination’, ‘Fantasy’, ‘Be Ever Wonderful’, ‘That’s The Way Of The World’, ‘Reasons’ ‘Jupiter’, ‘Boogie Wonderland’ .
And, not surprisingly, many of America’s HBCU marching bands captured the magical sounds of EWF. At some point and time, EWF has likely been played at halftime of every HBCU football game. Of course, EWF’s music transcended race. Even predominantly white schools played their music. Linked is a tribute to EWF by the University of Michigan band.
We know that Maurice White, a man of peace, love and spirituality, had to have loved that.
