Thank God for video cameras. At least now black people can shed a light on a brutal phenomenon that has been going on in this country for as long as police officers have had guns…. that is the gunning down of black men.
The latest video _ the shooting for 17-year-old LaQuan McDonald in Chicago _ took 13 months to be released, thanks to the city of Chicago, and its mayor, Rahm Emanuel trying to bury it. In fact, it is only being released now because of court order. The video, which is linked below, shows precisely what occured, which is nothing like the earlier police reports that McDonald ‘lunged’ at officer Jason Van Dyke, who shot him 16 times. Van Dyke shot him six seconds after he got out of the car, and emptied his clip into McDonald. Van Dyke, who was working on the desk since the shooting, was finally charged with murder today.
So, I am going to put this dash cam video right here, and let you come to your own conclusions.
