Why? There is only one reason why, the color of their skins. These were mostly white people. So, instead of being ’thugs’ and ‘hoodlums’, they were ‘revelers’ and ‘party goers’, who got a little bit out of hand.
In other words, they were just ‘boys just being boys’. They went a teeny bit overboard in their ‘celebration’.
You know, and I know, if these guys were black, the police would’ve poured tear-gas on them, or worse. There would have been dozens of arrests, and it would’ve been front page news.
Of course, some of our white friends are going to say I am complaining and playing the race card. After all, it was only a ‘few’ people acting out. It does not reflect the entire city of Denver. And you know what? That is absolutely true. Those jerks don’t represent the entire city of Denver.
But this is why I am so pissed. When black folks try to say the same thing, that it is only a few who are out of order, and they do not represent the black community, the entire black community gets indicted, nonetheless.
As one of my boys likes to say, “This is some straight up, B.S.”
Oh, and this is not the first time the folks acted a fool in Denver. They did it the last time the Broncos won the Super Bowl in XXXII. Denver is not alone in this. In Lexington, Ky., students from the University of Kentucky _ ‘celebrating’ their basketball team in 2012 _ tried to set the town on fire. But, it was no big deal.
Check out the videos below. It seems that ‘boys will be boys’ every chance they get.
