Well, GSU vs. JSU is still a great contest….. at halftime.
Sadly, the decline in the quality of play by many HBCU football teams is such that the bands have become _ for more than a few _ better entertainment than the game. The pre-game shows, halftime shows, fifth quarter shows, and band battles, have become the thing to see at an HBCU football game.
Notice at most non HBCU football games people get up at halftime to take their breaks. At an HBCU game, it is just the opposite. No one is going any where until the performances are over.
Well, we know it will be a great battle of the bands. Let’s hope the football teams can have a good game, too. So, who you got, the Grambling Tiger marching band, or Jackson State’s ‘Sonic Boom of the South’? Posted are highlights of both of these famed bands in action.
