Herm Edwards, the former NFL player, coach, and now ESPN analyst, is famous for his rant, “You play to win the game,” during his days as coach of the New York Jets.

Well, the other day Edwards delivered a message that was meant for athletes, but it is something all of us can take into our daily lives.

Edwards was speaking to members of the Under-Armour High School All-America team about TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin, who was suspended for Saturday’s Alamo Bowl because of a fight in a bar.

“Don’t be that guy,” is the message that Edwards had for the players. No one is replaceable, he warned. And, case in point is that TCU rallied from a 31-0 halftime deficit to Oregon to win in overtime, thanks in large part to Boykins’ replacement, quarterback Bram Kohlhausen.
