Middle weight champion Daniel Jacobs shook up the boxing world tonight. The 28-year-old Jacobs stopped his good friend, and Brooklyn, New York, homeboy, Peter Quillin with a TKO Saturday night at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
Jacobs opened the fight of against his friend with a barrage of punches that seem to come from all angles. A thunderous right hand was the blow that sent Quillin back, and brought the referee in to stop the fight just 1:35 into the 1st round. It was the third title defense by Jacobs (32-1), and by far his most impressive performance, taking out a formidable opponent such at Quillin, who fell to 32-2-1.
