The Detroit Lions remained the NFL’s only winless team Monday night, but in all probability, they shouldn’t be. Trailing 13-10 inside of two minutes in the game, the Lions’ Calvin Johnson fumbled at the goal line. The ball rolled freely in the end zone, and was then batted out of bounds by a Seattle player.

By rule, you cannot intentionally punch the ball out of the end zone. However, the officials missed to call, and awarded the Seahawks the ball, and they ran the clock out. The Seahawks improved to 2-2, and the Lions are 0-4.

It was a bitter defeat for the Lions, who just can’t seem to get a break. In the first round of the playoffs last year the Lions lost to Dallas, when officials actually called a pass interference on Dallas, which would have given the Lions a first down, and practically locked up the game. However, the call was over-ruled, and the Lions were forced to punt. The Cowboys scored a late touchdown to win the game. More information on the Seattle-Lions game from last night is posted below.
