Posted is an excerpt from a recent interview of 10-year NFL veteran, and Super Bowl champions, Mark Ingram Sr. on The African-American Athlete Show.
In the interview Ingram, a first-round draft pick of the New York Giants in 1988, talked about growing up in Flint, Mi., and working with his son, Mark Jr., who won the Heisman Trophy at the University of Alabama (the first Heisman ever for the Crimson Tide). He currently plays for the New Orleans Saints.
Ingram Sr. talked about the tough love he showed his son as an athlete, and how his family helped raise his son when he was incarcerated. Ingram Sr. served five years in prison for money laundering and fraud.
