Not surprisingly, the Louisiana District Attorney said Friday that the two officers who shot and killed Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge in 2016 will not face charges. Sterling was killed after police officers Howie Lake II and Blane Salamoni responded to a call about a man with a gun outside a convenience store. Sterling did have a weapon, but at no time does the video evidence show he was about to use it. Lake II received a suspension for his role in the incident. Salamoni, who fired the shots, was fired from his job. But one look at the video and you have to wonder why Salamoni is not facing murder charges. When Sterling questions why the officers are trying to search him, Salamoni threatens to kill him. “Don’t fucking move or I’ll shoot your fucking ass.
