Apparently, a would-be thief picked the wrong victim the other day, Serena Williams.
In addition to being the best tennis player in the world, Serena is steeped in street smarts. You don’t grow up in Compton, Calif., and not know your way around, and understand how to handle yourself in practically any kind of situation that exists. That is a valuable life skill people from inner cities around the country can attest to.
It is a survival skill that allows you to interact with people from all walks of life…including criminals. The 21 time major champion, and arguably the greatest women’s player ever, went on Facebook this morning and shared her story about chasing down a guy who stole her phone. Williams was at lunch and noticed a guy who looked suspicious. Here is the champ sharing her story via Facebook:
