According to news reports, Stillman (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) College announced it is ending its football program. The Tusculoosa News is reporting that Stillman will finish the 2015-16 year competing in NCAA Division II athletics. The Tigers will then move to the NAIA in 2016-17, where they will field only men’s and women’s basketball.
Stillman is a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). It finished the season with a 3-6 record. The Tigers fielded teams in women’s softball, volleyball, tennis, cross country and track and field. Men’s sports included football, baseball, track and field, tennis and cross country. Athletes from discontinued programs will be able to transfer to other NCAA schools where they will be eligible immediately.
