We have been hearing all this talk about how Rousey was a once in a lifetime fighter. How she beat up her boyfriend. How she could beat Floyd Mayweather.
But all that got exposed for just what it was, media hyperbole.
Saturday night at UFC 193 Holly Holm (33-2) gave her a beat down. She pummeled Rousey in an easy second round TKO.
Ronda Rousey is the classic case of someone getting the big head. She was walking over her opponents, enjoying the media spotlight and even talking smack.
Some in the media were making her out to be the best ever, and she had all of 12 fights under her belt. That is simply too small of a sample size to determine greatness.
The dangerous thing about it was Rousey buying into it. Well, Holm brought her back to reality. Linked is video from the fight.
