Former Virginia Union University basketball star Derwin Lily and former Ohio State University quarterback Corneilus Green were guests on ‘In And Out Of Sports’, with D.C. talk show host Butch McAdams.
The 5-foot-9 Lily was an dynamic playmaker from the point guard position out of Baltimore for the Panthers from (1976-’80), and was the catalyst of Union’s 1980 NCAA Division II Championship.
Lily discussed his career and how he honed his talents playing in Baltimore, and his decision to attend Virginia Union.
Green was the first black quarterback at Ohio State University (1972-’76) and played for the legendary Woody
Hayes. Green talked about growing up in Baltimore, playing for Coach Hayes, and the challenges of being a black quarterback.
