One of life’s treasures for fans of HBCU football is sitting in the stands on a nice fall afternoon, watching your favorite school play, and of course, watching and listening to the bands perform.
No matter what game you go to, you are sure to be treated by the many marvelous HBCU bands around the country.
Going through some HBCU band archives I ran across a couple of classic performances by the Bethune Cookman University Wildcats marching band, better known as the Pride.
Like so many HBCU bands, BCU is off the charts with its musicianship, showmanship, and execution.
Linked are a couple of ‘in game’ performances that will get you moving. ‘Let’s Go Wildcats’ is one of the best fight songs anywhere, and the choreography is superb. Also linked is ‘Vice-Versa’, which features BCU’s 14 Karat dancers.
The first link is from 2012, and the second comes from 2014. However, like with so many HBCU bands, the years don’t really matter because so many traditions are passed on.
