CNN’s Reporting Of ‘No Violence’ At Opening Of NWA Movie Illustrates Perceptions Of The African-American Community

There are a lot of white people in America, which must include the producers and the reporters of that CNN newscast, that expect the worse from black people.  I mean think about it……this is a story that finds it remarkable that there was  no violence in a movie theater just because it was populated  by a lot of black people.

What the hell were you  expecting, CNN?  And, if you are reporting movie shootings, where is the piece on crazy white men not shooting  up a movie theater over the weekend? After all, the last time I heard about movie shootings it was two lunatic white men _   James Holmes in Colorado, and John Houser _  who were shooting and killing innocent people.

But you won’t see that story on CNN because in America far too often the white community is judged by its best behaviors, and the black community is judged by its worst. The CNN report demonstrates this point clearly.

Now, I am well aware that in our violent society, where there are some sick, and sometimes simply demonic, people walking around who seem to be able to put their hands on a gun as easily as they could a stick of gum, that ANYONE can go off at ANYTIME.  But, damn, CNN. At least give black folks the same common courtesy you do white folks. At least wait until something actually happens before you find it worthy of comment.

Below is the report that is in question. I have to wonder if there was any African-American editors and producers who were sitting in the budget meeting when someone came up with this story idea.
