Monday’s edition of ‘In And Out Of Sports’ hosted by Butch McAdams included interviews with four women groundbreakers in their respective fields.
First up was Laverne Johnson, who became the first black cheerleader for the Washington football team.
Ms. Johnson discussed the challenges she faced breaking the color barrier as the first black cheerleader.
Next up was Dottye Williams, who is a member of the Washington Wizards NBA team dance troupe, the Wizdoms. Ms. Williams talked about the dance team that consists of dancers 50-and-older.
Pro softball player AJ Andrews talked about her career in professional softball and being honored as the prestigious Gold Glove Award re.
Dionne Johnson Calhoun spoke about her mission of empowering people mentally and physically through her workshops.Click to hear the interview.
