Serena Williams was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the year for 2015, The No. 1 ranked player in the world won five titles, including three Grand Slams, in the season.
It is indeed a fitting honor for Williams, 33, who won three of the four major titles in 2015, earned more than $10 million in prize money, and finished the season with a 53-3 record and five championships. She is the No. 1 ranked player in the world, and arguably the greatest in the history of the sport.
