Considering so many casual football fans watch the Super Bowl each year, I would assume that a lot of people watching the Super Bowl LI pregame ceremony honoring the 28 HBCU players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, didn’t know there were so many great players.
In addition to the Hall of Famers, there are literally dozens of All-Pros and Pro Bowlers from HBCUs who had an impact in the NFL.
Men like Dallas Cowboys’ defensive end Ed ‘Too Tall’ Jones from Tennessee State, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Harold Carmichael, and the Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver Otis Taylor, were among the best at their respective positions. They are just a few off a list that is literally too long to mention.
