Rod Carew is one of the greatest players in the history of Major League Baseball. Over the course of his marvelous, 19-year career with the Minnesota Twins and California Angels, Carew established himself as one of the game’s greatest hitters.
He was an All-Star 18 times in 19 seasons. He won seven batting titles, an MVP Award, and played second base, and later first base, flawlessly. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.
However, what is even more amazing than his storied baseball career is the fact that Carew, 71, is a walking miracle today.
He nearly died from a massive heart attack in September of 2015, just 11 days before his 70th birthday. “I was dead,” said Carew, remembering the lifesaving efforts of the doctors. “And they brought me back to life.”
Although Carew survived the initial attack, he was in desperate need of a heart. There was indeed an angel watching over the former Angels star. The person that Carew got his heart from is someone he met years earlier in a chance meeting.
Linked is the story of Rod Carew, and his incredible life angel, Konrad Reuland.
