The officials reviewed the play for several minutes and ruled the touchdown good, giving the Hurricanes a 30-27 victory. The win came one week after the Hurricanes lost 58-0 to Clemson, and fired its coach Al Golden. He was replaced by assistant coach Larry Scott.
