Sabien Tinson recently earned a spot on the 2017 Junior World speed skating team that will travel to Nanjing, China (Aug. 23-Sept. 11) to compete in the 2017 World Championships. Tinson, 16, finished at the USA trials in Colorado Springs as the top competitor. He earned three Gold medals, and set six national records. A strong finish in China could earn Tinson a spot in the 2018 Junior Olympics in Argentina.
Tinson is one of only a few blacks who participate at this level of inline speed skating. The Albany, Ga., native’s master plan is to make the transition from Inline skating to Olympic Speed Skating (in either Short or Long Track), and compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Bejing, China.
We had the pleasure of interviewing him on our radio show on November 29, 2016.
Sabien’s family can use your help in helping him get to China. If you would like to give a donation, you are welcome to send a check or money order to Sabien Tinson at P O Box 721805, Orlando Fl 32872. He also has a Go Fund Me page at: https://www.gofundme.com/sabien-going-4-goldnanjing-china
