Inspired by the legendary play of Tiger Woods, Finau chose golf, and it seems to be a good choice. The 25-year-old rookie is having strong season on the Tour. On Friday Finau followed up his 5-under-par 65 in the first round of the Barclays, with a 1-under-par 69. His two day score of 6-under-par is one shot behind the leader, Bubba Watson. The tournament is the first event in the Fed Ex Cups Playoffs that will payout $10,000,000 to the winner.
Finau is one of the new generation of players, strong and athletic. Checking in at 6-foot-4, Finau hits the ball a mile. He has earned more than $1,000,000 so far this season, with two, top ten finishes.Fans of the Golf Channel may remember Finau as a contestant on its Big Break” series. Finau certainly has the athletic bloodlines working in his favor. In addition to Parker, Haloti Ngata of the Detroit Lions, is a cousin, as is former New York Jets player Sione “Bo” Po’uha.
Here is a little more about the long-knocking rookie.
