Second year WNBAer Imani Boyette of the Chicago Sky comes from a basketball family. Her mom, hall of famer Pamela McGee, is one of the most accomplished players in the history of women’s basketball. Her brother, Javale, McGee, plays for the NBA Golden State Warriors.
Despite the family lineage, it has been a difficult journey to the WNBA for the 6-foot-7 center, who played collegiately at the University of Texas. She dealt with sexual abuse, three suicide attempts, and family issues. Somehow, she found the perseverance to not only survive, but prosper.
